Kathleen M. Courtney, age 75, of Reedsburg, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Casa de Oakes. She was born on July 17, 1950 in Madison, the daughter of James and Margaret (Tighe) Courtney. 

Kathleen attended the University of Wisconsin- Whitewater and received a Master’s Degree from Edgewood College. Kathleen worked at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Reedsburg for 18 years as the Second Grade Teacher, and 13 years as the Principal until her retirement. 

In 2015, Kathleen was named Irishwoman of the Year for the South Central Shamrock Club's 45th Annual St. Patrick's Day Dinner.

She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Kathleen enjoyed reading, writing, history, and was an avid Chicago Cubs sports fan, plus Wisconsin Football, and a Green Bay Packers fan.

Survivors include her sister, Sheila Jo Courtney, Verona; along with other relatives and friends

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Kathleen M. Courtney will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Reedsburg with Father John Blewett officiating.  Burial will take place at the Calvary Cemetery, Reedsburg, immediately following the service.  Visitation will be on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church.  Memorials of remembrance may be made to the Sacred Heart School Endowment Fund.
