Kay E. Huefner Obituary

Kay E. Huefner, age 76, of Wisconsin Dells, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, July 25, 2025, at her home.

Kay was born on August 3, 1948, the daughter of Leo and Irene (Moody) Dixon. She was raised in Baraboo, where she attended school and grew up surrounded by her large and loving family.

Kay dedicated her life to caring for others, both at work and at home. She worked for many years as a dietary aide at the Wisconsin Dells nursing home, where her kind heart and gentle spirit touched the lives of countless residents. She later worked at Tijuana Taco in Wisconsin Dells and then at The Alpine Restaurant in Baraboo, always known for her strong work ethic and warm personality.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—working on crossword puzzles, completing jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with her family. Her love was constant and unconditional, and her door was always open to anyone in need.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Josh; and her siblings: Vanetta (Billie), Lorraine, Dean, Camilla (Camay), and Gay (Pud).

She is survived by her children: Tony Dixon, Becky Shone-Huefner, Roberta Huefner, Bob Huefner, and Georgiana (Curtis) Garnuch. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Megan, Erica, Natasha, Tabitha, Danny, Mike, Amanda, Kyle, Lacey, Dylan, Caleb, Monique, and Skyler; as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Kay was the most beloved mother anyone could ask for. She had a heart of gold, always giving, always loving. Her family will carry her memory with them forever and hold her close in their hearts.

In keeping with Kay’s wishes, no formal services will be held.

We love you forever, Mom. You will always be with us.
