Kay Ellen Sandstrom, age 86 of Reedsburg, WI, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at the Sauk County Health Care Center. She was born on November 8, 1939 in Superior, WI, the daughter of Arthur and Eleanor (Hagberg) Westby.

Kay worked in the healthcare field including the SCHCC for many years taking care of others.  Kay enjoyed watching sports, cooking shows and anything that involved her family, especially her grandsons.

On November 9, 1957 Kay was united in marriage to Oscar in Superior, WI.  Together they enjoyed traveling, and one of their pastimes was traveling in their 1960 Thunderbird for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Oscar on January 9, 2015; her parents; son, Randy Paul Sandstrom; and sister, Peggy Westby.

She is survived by her son, David (Rita) Sandstrom; grandsons, Jordan (Candice Wade) Sandstrom, Cody (Charlee) Sandstrom; sister, Judy (Jim) Beebe; brother, Paul Westby; sister in law, Marge Hessel; along with other family and friends.

The family would especially like to thank the staff at SCHCC for their exceptional care and friendship of Kay over the past few years.

Funeral services for Kay will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg with Chaplain Daniel Farber officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service. Burial will be made in St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Rock Springs.
