Kenneth William Bolt, age 85, of Reedsburg, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 2, 2026, at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veteran’s Hospital in Madison.  He was born on February 25, 1940, in Ferndale, MI, the son of William and Mabel (Hiatt) Bolt.

Ken was a 1959 graduate of Lamphere High School in Madison Heights, MI. Ken proudly served his country in the US Army from 1959 to 1962.  During his time in the Army, Ken met and fell in love with Joyce L. Thompson at Ft. Sheridan, IL.  They were united in marriage on September 24, 1962. This marriage was blessed with four children.  Ken worked several jobs before working for the Sauk County Highway Department for over 25 years. In his retirement, Ken owned and operated Bolt Fencing.

He was an avid Brewers and Packers fan; enjoyed fishing and was content spending time at home working on various projects. He was a member of the Reedsburg VFW Post #1916, and American Legion Post #350.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce in February 2012; sisters: Alma Jean, Carol and Gayle.

Ken is survived by his children: Trish Good (Tim King) of Reedsburg, Roger Bolt (Rita Montgomery) of Reedsburg, Glenn (Tobi) Bolt of Cambridge, John (Diana) Bolt of Reedsburg; grandchildren: Derek (Sara) Bolt, Cody Bolt, Brett Bolt, Macy Bolt (Matt Koester), Regan Bolt (Steven Deforest); great-grandchildren: Alina, Natallya, Xypher Bolt, Josie Koester; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends.

A visitation for Kenneth Bolt will be conducted from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg. A private family burial with military honors will take place in the Greenwood Cemetery, Reedsburg, at a later date.
