Kenneth David Wrezenski departed this life on August 11, 2024. He lived for 84 years 1 month and 19 days, to live with Our Lord in Heaven and watch over all of us, Ken died at home under the care of SSM Hospice care. Ken died from Covid.
Ken was born at St, Mary’s Ringing Hospital in Baraboo, Wisconsin on June 22, 1940. Ken was the son of Louis J, Wrezenski and Gladys Bell Schultz.
Ken attended Wisconsin Dells School and was a member of the B Team in Basketball. He was a member of the Graduating Class of May 1959.
Ken faithfully served his country with two Tours of Duty in the United States Navy from 1960-1964 and again from 1968-1970. Ken received the National Defense Service Metal, plus spent two years in the Navy Reserves. Ken was deployed to Sub Bay Philippines, Pearl Harbor, Sand Diego, CA and Norfolk, VA.
Ken also served as an active member of the 84th Division of Railsplitters of the United Army Reserves in Milwaukee, WI. Ken was a Staff Sergeant. He was stationed at Fort McCoy, WI, discharged from the military service on April 3, 1995, and retired on June 22, 2000.
On July 15, 1972 Ken married Sandra {Sandy} Martin at Siloah Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They were happily married for 52 years and 27 days.
During their marriage Ken was employed by Milwaukee Seasoning Labs in Germantown, WI for a total of 10 years. Ken was also employed by Ho Chunk Hotel and Convention Center and was a faithful and dedicated employee since 1996. He retired as a Kitchen Steward in 2015 due to his headaches.
Ken is survived by his wife Sandy of Reedsburg, Wisconsin and is the proud dad of Scott (fiancé Crystal) Wrezenski and Marty Wrezenski of Sun Prairie, WI, they are the love of his life. Ken is the proud Papa of Aidan Hebert. Aidan has been a devoted grandson to Ken (Papa) all these years.
He is further survived by a brother Louis (Nancy) Wrezenski and a very special sister Mary Corning who always has a special place in his heart. Ken is also survived by a half-sister Shirley Anderson of the Wisconsin Dells area, special cousin Barbara (Richard) Walczak and special friend William McWane who was by Ken’s side to help for the last 10 years. He also survived by his Godchild Jamie Lamb, and many other nieces, nephew’s relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother Donald Wrezenski, his little sister Donna (Allen Krnak) his half Sister Alice Tucker, and two special aunts Clara Mae Schultz and Edith Gauger.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 3:00 P.M. at the Farber Funeral Home 2000 Viking Drive, Reedsburg, Wisconsin. Reverend Paul Crolius, Pastor of St. Peter Lutheran Church will officiate. Visitation will also be on Wednesday from 1-3 PM until the time of the service. Interment will follow services with military rites at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery in Reedsburg with luncheon to follow.
At this time, we would like to thank SSM Home Health for all the care they gave to Ken for the past 11 years, as well as Sauk County Health Care Center and Elroy Health Care Center, as well as Bradford Schwartz at UW Hospital his Hematologist and Dr. Delong of Dean Care in Baraboo.
