LaVonne J. Koenecke, age 94, of Reedsburg, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at the Sauk County Health Care Center. She was born on September 12, 1929, in Baraboo, WI, the daughter of Schuyler and Treva (Lange) Getschman. LaVonne was a graduate of Baraboo High School. She grew up on a farm outside of Baraboo where she learned early on the value of hard work. She enjoyed the outdoors and gardening.
On April 22, 1948, LaVonne was united in marriage to Kenneth W. Koenecke, a union that remained for 64 years. Ken preceded her in death on April 21, 2012. This marriage was blessed with four children. LaVonne was a quiet woman who loved her family. She was a great cook, enjoyed quilting, sewing, and canning the produce she grew in her garden.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Lenny James in 2008; daughter-in-law, Sharon Koenecke; siblings: Lyle Getschman, Joyce Petzke, James and Gale Getschman.
LaVonne is survived by her children: Linda (Larry) Williams of Greenville, WI, Kathleen Koenecke of Baraboo, Keith (Tammy) Koenecke of Reedsburg; grandchildren: Wendy (Bradd) Seegers, Richard (Erin) Williams, George (Melissa) Kalka, Kraig Kalka (special friend, Tamra), Nathan (Jenni) Koenecke, Lucas (Amanda) Koenecke, Chad Koenecke, Kimberly (Justin) Walker; 18 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Gloria Crawford of Reedsburg, and Nancy Getschman of Deerfield.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial will be made in Greenwood Cemetery, Reedsburg.
