Loretta C. King, age 94, of Reedsburg, formerly of LaValle, WI, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at the Reedsburg Area Senior Life Center. She was born on February 23, 1927 in Glenview, IL, the daughter of John and Josephine (Eberlein) Kufeldt. On October 9, 1948 she was united in marriage to James C. King. He preceded her in death on July 9, 2017.
Loretta was employed as an Avon Representative for many years. She also worked as a crossing guard for the city of Skokie, IL. After moving to Dutch Hollow, LaValle, Loretta served as the church organist at Holy Family in LaValle for 15 years and sang in the choir. She loved playing games, crocheting and reading. Loretta was a faithful member of Partners for many years at the Reedsburg Hospital, and a member of the LaValle Women’s Legion Auxiliary.
Loretta is survived by her children; Richard (Susan) King of Sheboygan, Joanne (William) Oglesby of Garden City, GA, Patricia (William) Fulkerson of Littleton, CO, Thomas (Char) King of Friendsville, TN and Diane (Greg) Engstrom of Round Rock, TX. She is further survived by her thirteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law JoAnn King, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Loretta will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church in LaValle with Reverend Sanctus Ibe, Pastor, as Celebrant. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. The Mass will be live streamed in central time. Burial will be made in Oak Lawn Cemetery in LaValle.
