Lucille E. Reinecke, age 89, of Reedsburg, formerly of Loganville, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 17, 2025, at the Reedsburg Area Senior Life Center.  She was born on September 3, 1935, in the Town of Reedsburg, Sauk County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Walter and Ethel (Eden) Tessmer. She was Baptized on September 22, 1935 in Zion Lutheran Church LaValle and Confirmed in her faith on April 16, 1949.  Lucy was a 1953 graduate of Cazenovia High School.

Lucy worked in a drug store for 27 years. In September of 1979, Lucy was united in marriage to Duane Reinecke in Zion Lutheran Church, LaValle and became a hard working farm wife. Duane preceded her in death in 2018.  An auction of farm machinery was held in 2019.

Lucy very much loved her church and church family. She was involved in the WELCA group, Homemakers, Old Settlers Association and her quilting club. She was known to give her chocolate chip cookies to family, friends and “unknown” friends. She never met a stranger. Lucy enjoyed sending greeting cards for any and all occasions and she always tried to include a note or letter.

Her family would like to thank the Reedsburg Area Senior Life Center for the excellent care she has received from them since she became a resident in January of 2023.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Ken Laukant; step-daughter and son-in-law,Linda and Dennis Hohl; brothers, Gus Tessmer and Hollis Tessmer; four infant brothers and sisters, including her twin brother, Lyle.

Lucy is survived by her daughter, Katherine (William) Zietlow of LaValle, daughter-in-law, Brooke (Glenn) Stenson of Baraboo, grandchildren:  Brian (Tracy) Zietlow, Matt Zietlow and Kayla, Michelle (Tyler) Oettinger, Brittany (Iuri) Gianesini, Benjamin (Kirsten) Hohl, Jaron Laukant, Keiran Laukant; great-grandchildren: Vella, Marshall, Vanessa, Lucas, Brayden, Shelby, Kaylee and Sienna; sister, Anita Myers of Round Lake, IL; special sister-in-law, Betty Burfeind of Wonewoc; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and special friends.

Funeral services for Lucille Reinecke will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Zion Ev. Lutheran Stone Church, Westfield Township, with Vicar Jay Kiel officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 4 from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the church.  Memorials may be made to the Reedsburg Area Senior Life Center Activities Department, Zion Lutheran Stone Church or the charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.
