Lyle Charles “Buddy” Higley, age 62, of Reedsburg, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 5, 2025. He was born on June 11, 1963, in Minnesota, the son of Lyle and Ruth (Johnson) Bodendein.
Buddy was a talented and passionate steel guitar player. He started playing at the age of six and became one of the best, most talented steel guitar players in the business, playing in numerous bands throughout the years. Buddy was an avid chess player and enjoyed watching football. He owned a successful business as a voiceover talent. He performed many voice talents for various forms of media; working for several television and radio stations, film and other presentations across the US. He was known to many as Kyle Scott in the industry.
He is the proud father of two sons, Mason and Chase Higley; sisters, Cheryl (Marcus) Parduhn and Gail Duren; nephews and nieces: Mark (Gee) Young, Carolyn Johnson, Seth Hertier, and Summer (Mark) Eberle; 7 great nieces and nephews and four great-great nephews; special friend, Cathy Pierce.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Ruth Bodendein. Private family services will be held with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Reedsburg.
A celebration of Buddy’s life will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2025 from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the Summit Ridge Restaurant, N795 WI 58, Wonewoc, WI 53968.
In lieu of flowers, memorials of remembrance may be made to the family.
