Marilee Ellen Olson was born September 15, 1941, in Reedsburg Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Lawrence and Irene Olson. Marilee passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. She was a graduate of Reedsburg High School and later University of Wisconsin Stout. She taught home economics at Baldwin High School and Madison East High.

Marilee married Martin Houg, together they were parents to Scott Houg (Pamela), Eric Houg, Kristin (Patrick) Thrall, and David (Stacy) Houg. She was a grandmother to Joshua Cooke, Samantha Dougherty, Kristipher Thrall, Tyler Thrall, Connor Houg, and Sophia Houg. She is further survived by her brother Paul Olson (Lori) of Saint Paul, MN, and brother-in-law Bruce Davidson of Marinette, WI.

Following a divorce, she attended Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and received a Master of Divinity. She served congregations in Richland Center, Cloquet, and Solon Springs, WI. Marilee will be remembered for her love for her family, dedication to God and the Presbyterian Church, her cooking skills, and the many lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by Irene, Lawrence, and Florence Olson, as well as a sister, Laurene DeWitt Davidson.

A funeral service for Marilee will be held at 3:00 p.m. at the Greenwood Cemetery Chapel, Reedsburg with burial to follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.
