Mary K Held Dickeman

Mary K. Held Dickeman, age 95, of Reedsburg, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Reedsburg Area Senior Life Center. She was born on July 15, 1928, in Platteville, WI, the daughter of Edward and Lois (Gable) Sueltmann. In 1947 Mary was united in marriage to Victor A. Held.  This marriage was blessed with four children.  Victor preceded her in death at an early age on June 4, 1959.  Mary raised her four children, aged 10, 8, 6, and 4 on her own. She also saw to the completion of their partially constructed home in Reedsburg. Mary was a beautician for 40 years and owned and operated The Hair Flair in Reedsburg.  She was a former President of her District Cosmetology Association. With a group of women friends, an investment group was developed in Reedsburg that survived several years.

In 1983 Mary was united in marriage to Cyril J. Dickeman of Lime Ridge.  The couple enjoyed many years of traveling the world together; visiting six continents and many beautiful destinations.  Mary enjoyed golfing and was an avid history buff.  She did extensive genealogy research on her family's ancestors.  She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution Fay-Robinson Chapter, the Sauk County Historical Society and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mary was a skilled painter and her family and others enjoy many of her works of art.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Victor and Cyril, and son-in-law Phil Kucher.

Mary is survived by her children, Vicki (Otto) Krueger of Okauchee, Kathy Kucher of Wonewoc, Jim (Rhoda Warren) Held of Madison, Richard (Toni Stephens) Held of Watertown; grandchildren: Kurt (Charmaine Mallon) Krueger, Eric Krueger, Jessica (Jason) Planer, Shannon Prochnow, John (Jessica) Prochnow, Ryan (Sue Ann) Kucher, Angela (Bob) Lenzendorf, Jennifer Held and Allison Held; 9 great grandchildren; sister, Suzanne Dornfeld of Fitchburg.

Funeral services for Mary Held Dickeman will be conducted at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at the Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg. Visitation will be held on Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place in St. Boniface Cemetery, Lime Ridge at a later date. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or the Sauk County Historical Society.
