Mary Florence Weitzel, age 107 of Reedsburg, WI, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at the Reedsburg Area Medical Center. She was born on March 23, 1918 in the town of Bear Creek, the daughter of the late George A. and Florence (Dwyer) Weitzel. She graduated from Spring Green High School in 1937, and attended Wisconsin Commercial Academy in Milwaukee for two years. She worked for Montgomery Ward Company and Lee Garment Company in Chicago for a time.

Mary Florence loved music, and in her younger years singing soprano and solos with many choirs, chorus’ and glee clubs. Mary Florence was also known for being helpful to her neighbors and friends both at Willow Heights and Howard Wynne Villa in Reedsburg. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her two brothers, George (Lorraine) Weitzel and Eugene Weitzel; and special friend, Nathan Kast.

She is survived by her niece, Georgia (Carl) Dodd; nephews John (B’ Lynn) and Mark Weitzel; 11 great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews; along with other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Florence will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 16, 2025 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Loreto. Reverend Luke Syse, Pastor, will be the Celebrant. Visitation will also be on Friday from 9:30 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. at the church. Burial will follow the service in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials of remembrance may be given for masses. The family would like to thank Heather Johnston, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Bergman, Mr. and Mrs. John Kast, Eileen Schutz, and Ruth Thayer. They would also like to thank the staff at the Reedsburg Area Medical Center and the Sauk County Health Care Center.
