Merlyn Davis, age 85, of Reedsburg, WI, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at the Reedsburg Area Senior Life Center. He was born at home on June 20, 1939 in New Auburn, Wisconsin to Axel and Ella (Oeming) Davis. On January 30, 1960 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Eve Wooley.
Merlyn was a machinist by trade. He loved his farm in Del Prairie, where he planted hundreds of pine trees. He enjoyed deer and all the other animals. He hunted in his early years, and was a great shot, and enjoyed fishing. He loved his family and friends, and the joys of life. He had done some woodworking which he sold with his wife in Adams at the flea market.
He served in the U.S. Army where he worked on missiles at Fort Bliss, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Eve Davis of Reedsburg; his brother, Darrell (June) Davis of Rockford, IL; his sister, Emma Hazelton of Eau Claire, WI.
Merle was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Goldene and Darlene; and his brother, Gary.
The family appreciates the help with arrangements by his sister-in-law Frances, and brother-in-law, Rick.
There will be no services held for Merlyn at this time.
