Michael James Quinn, age 72, of Reedsburg, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, July 29, 2024, with his wife and daughters by his side after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer.

He was born on June 2, 1952, in Reedsburg, WI, the son of Edwin J. and Rita M. (Greeley) Quinn. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Reedsburg where he attended grade school until they moved to Chicago, IL.  He graduated from high school in Carpentersville, IL where he met the love of his life, Cheryl Renee Kuchera.  They were united in marriage on July 17, 1971. They eventually moved back to the Reedsburg area and the marriage was blessed with two daughters, Yvonne and Nicole, 5 grandchildren, and 1 great granddaughter.

Mike worked at Grede Foundries in Reedsburg for 48 years.  He loved anything to do with Wisconsin sport teams. He frequented Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewer games with his tailgate crew. He played cards and gambled quite often attending Bingo with close friends Dennis and Vi Penshorn. Mike also enjoyed time on ‘the boat’ with his buddy, Owen Manville. He frequented BP gas station where he gave ‘the girls’ and staff the hope of winning the lottery. He would do anything for his grandchildren; his great granddaughter was his partner in crime. He was a good man with a huge heart, our idol, our hero, Husband, Dad, Brother, Grandpa and Poppy. No words will amount to the man he was.

Mike is survived by his best friend and wife of 53 years, Cheryl; daughters, Yvonne (Craig) Neumann of Loganville, Nikki (Joe) Hahn of LaValle; grandchildren: Joe Eastman (Kristina Haylock), Jacob Williams (Jade Hamburg), Cody Neumann, Colton Neumann, and Shelby Neumann; great granddaughter, Leah Eastman; brother, Steve (Patty) Quinn; nephew, Jason (Deana) Roth.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law, Victor and Barbara (Rick) Kuchera; sister-in-law, Vicki (Kuchera) Roth; niece, Rachel Quinn and nephew, Erick Quinn.

Memorial services for Michael Quinn will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday, August 5, 2024, at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg with Deacon Tom Hale officiating.  Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 PM until the time of the service. In honor of Mike, please wear casual apparel such as Packer, Brewer, Badger or any sportswear.

A private family burial will be held at a later date at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Hillsboro.
