Michele M. “Shelly” Schyvinch, age 55, of Reedsburg, WI, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at the University Hospital in Madison, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on April 30, 1970 in Reedsburg, the daughter of Edward and Emily (Suchoman) Schroeder. On May 1994, she was united in marriage to Paul Schyvinch. This marriage was blessed with three children.
Shelly was a member of Advent Christian Church in LaValle where she much enjoyed singing and playing the djembe drum with the worship group.
Her biggest joy in life was being a mom. She attended every event her kids were involved in and could often be found telling people about them every chance she got. She was known to be a passionate coach throughout Reiley’s youth and an excited spectator when she wasn’t coaching. Being a three sport athlete, and hall of famer herself, it’s no surprise that some of her favorite things were watching Jarod play football and watching Reiley take after her by being a softball pitcher. When she wasn’t coaching or watching her kids play, she could be found reffing volleyball, something she loved for many years.
She was known as the fun mom when her kids were growing up. She would join in her kids’ shenanigans and her house was always the house friends wanted to come to. She was so excited to become “the fun grandma” in a few months and we know she will be watching over her granddaughter with a close eye.
She enjoyed everything she did with her husband, Paul, and would often spend weekends taking trips with him to apple orchards, shopping or wherever their day led them. She could often be found zipping around town in her UTV with her sidekick Hershi. She enjoyed fishing, taking after her dad, doing it whenever she got the chance to. She loved family get togethers and was always the one cracking jokes, especially with her friends at dialysis, who she came to love dearly. When she was bored at night, she was known to have long conversations with her brother Denny, who was one of her very best friends.
Shelly was loved by every person who knew her and will be remembered for her sense of humor, loving nature, strong faith and supportive heart.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, Clayton; father-in-law, Andrew Schyvinch; grandparents, Jerry and Emma Suchoman; grandparents, Walter and Pearl Schroeder; beloved dogs Hershi and Chewey; along with several other extended family members.
Shelly is survived by her husband, Paul; her son, Jarod Schyvinch; daughter, Reiley (Joseph) Rastocan; parents, Edward and Emily Schroeder; brothers, Dennis (Dorothy) Schroeder, and Alan (Lori) Schroeder; mother-in-law, LaVonne Schyvinch; along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Michele will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Friday, November 7, 2025 at Advent Christian Church in LaValle with Pastor Andy Johnson officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church.
