Patricia “Pat” J. Wagner, age 81, of rural LaValle, passed away at her home on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, surrounded by family. She was born on August 22, 1941, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Edward and Eileen (Walsh) Dlouhy.
On October 21, 1961, Pat was united in marriage to William “Bill” B. Wagner. This 61 years of marriage was blessed with four children 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Bill and Pat lived in Des Plaines, IL for many years while raising their family. Pat was a stay-at-home mom when the children were young and later taught ceramics out of their home. She supported the Girl Scouts with her daughter and was in charge of the annual cookie sale. In 1978, the Wagners moved to rural LaValle. Pat worked as a CNA at the Sauk County Health Care Center. In 1990, Pat realized one of her life-long dreams as she received her Registered Nursing Degree from MATC, Reedsburg Campus. She loved her work as a Nurse caring for patients at the Reedsburg Area Medical Center until her retirement in 2000.
Pat spent many winters in Florida and enjoyed traveling with her husband, Bill. They enjoyed 19 cruises and traveled to every state except Alaska. Pat was an avid gardener and loved tending to her flower beds and later in life looked forward to a good book.
She was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Ella Wagner.
Patricia is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bill; children, William Jr. “Bill” Wagner of Reedsburg, Susanne (Ron) Gardner of LaValle, Jennifer (Tim) Hoege of Waunakee, Robert Wagner of LaValle; grandchildren, Sarah Gardner, Cathryn (Garrett) Sitas, Sharesea Busser, Aaron (Hannielyn) Gardner, Andrew Gardner, Natalie Hoege, Tim Hoege, Jr. and Emmi Wagner; great grandchildren, Avery, Elliana, Asa, Noelle, Aurora and Zalea.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Patricia J. Wagner will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Patrick Wendler officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Please see video link below to make a direct contribution.
