Patrick J. Langbein, Sr., of La Valle, passed away peacefully at the Sauk County Health Care Center on August 8, 2025.

Patrick was born on September 13, 1926, in Fox Lake, Illinois, the son of John and Alice (Langan) Langbein. On December 13, 1946, Patrick married Elaine Votava in Phoenix, AZ, and they shared 78 wonderful years together. Patrick was a World War II veteran having served in the United States Army from January 1945 to November 1946 in the 48th Field Artillery Battalion in the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign. He was a member of the Fox Lake American Legion for 68 years; belonged to the Carpenters Union and worked for the US Navy, Glenview, IL

Patrick enjoyed traveling, boating on the Fox Lake Chain-O-Lakes; their annual fishing trip to Cass Lake, MN and celebrating the holidays with family. He enjoyed feeding the birds and often made his own birdhouses.

Patrick was preceded in death by his loving wife, Elaine on December 6, 2024; his parents, two brothers, three sisters and great grandson, Finley Langbein.

Patrick is survived by his sons, Patrick J. (Sandra) Langbein, James R. (Joanne) Langbein and Robert A. (Alyce) Langbein.  He is also lovingly remembered by seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Patrick J. Langbein, Sr. will be conducted at 11:30 AM on Wednesday August 13, 2025, at the Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg, with Chaplain Mike Amberg officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday morning from 10:30 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Burial with military honors will take place at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 18, 2025, in the Ringwood Cemetery, Ringwood, Illinois.
