Richard A. Bruce

Richard Arthur Bruce, age 86, formerly of Reedsburg, passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at the Stoney River Memory care in Marshfield.  He was born on September 29, 1936 in Hillsboro, WI, to the late Robert and Ella (Baldwin) Bruce. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. On June 10, 1960 he was united in marriage to Avice Jones. This marriage was blessed with two children. Richard worked as a supervisor at Hankscraft, and drove for Skinner Transfer.

 He is survived by his wife, Avice; son, Ricky (Kathy)Bruce, grandchildren; Lauryn (Michael) Hooker, Danny (Michelle) Bruce, Lucas (Haley) Gudenschwager, step-grandchildren; Paul Schmeiser and Nicholas (Jenny) Schmeiser, seven great-grandchildren, two sisters, Lois Pierce and Virginia Kopf; brother, Jim (Gail) Bruce, his son-in-law Daniel Gudenschwager, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Gudenschwager on January 14, 2006.

Funeral services for Richard Bruce will be conducted on Monday, July 10, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Faith Lutheran Church in Reedsburg with Reverend Steven Neyhart, Pastor, officiating. Visitation will also be on Monday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service at the church. Burial with military honors will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery.
