Ronald Powell Obituary

Ronald B. Powell, age 71, of Sandusky, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at the University Hospital in Madison after a courageous battle with multiple system atrophy caused by Agent Orange. He was born on June 26, 1947, in Reedsburg, Wisconsin, the son of Walter E. and Geraldine M. (McDermott) Powell. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a Specialist in the 8th Engineer Battalion with the 1st Cavalry Division during the Vietnam War.  He received the National Defense and Vietnam Defense medals, Vietnam Campaign medal, and the Air and Army Commendation medals. Ronnie enjoyed hunting, being outdoors, 4-wheeling and cars. He was employed in sheet metal construction and built his own house.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, and two nephews.

He is survived by: His daughter: Tracy Pena; Three grandchildren;

Brothers and Sisters:   Mary (Bill) Jacklin ,Twin brother: Donnie (Cheryl) Powell, Walter (Sandi) Powell, Richard (Heidi-deceased) Powell, Gerald (Judy) Powell,Francis Powell;

Nieces and nephews, along with other relatives and friends.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Ronnie Powell will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, October 6, 2018 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Loreto with Father David Carrano officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at the Sandusky Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the mass at the church.

The Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
