Rosa Maria Olivares, age 65, of Reedsburg, WI, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.  She was born on February 7, 1959 in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico, the daughter of Oscar Olivares Galvan and Herlinda Muñoz Sanchez. 

Rosa had been employed for many years as a paraprofessional with the Reedsburg School District where she ultimately retired. She was a member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Sauk City. As a member, Rosa was a catechism teacher, an advocate for the Hispanic Catholic Ministry, and someone who created loving relationships with many individuals and families. During retirement, Rosa enjoyed her time traveling, growing her relationship with the grandchildren, and engaging in arts and crafts where she loved creating piñatas for the family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Herlinda; and daughter, Amanda.    

Rosa is survived by her children: Diana, Erlene, Maria, and Marisol; grandchildren: Joshua, Devante, Sebastian, Steven Jr., Damian, Victoria, Liam and Meilani; great-grandchildren: Ezekiel and Elia; siblings: Oscar, Luis, Ismael, Francisco, Cecilio and Cristina; along with many other relatives and friends.

A Catholic Mass for Rosa will be celebrated at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Reedsburg with Father Osvaldo Briones as celebrant. Visitation will be on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.
