Rosalie Rusch Obituary

Rosalie Olga (Reinholtz) Rusch, 95 years old, passed away Saturday morning August 14, 2021 at Sheboygan Senior Community, where she resided for the last three years.

Rosalie was born November 20, 1925 in Sheboygan to Michael and Norma (Broechel) Reinholtz. She attended Trinity Lutheran School and was taught to speak English since German was only spoken at home. She graduated from Central High School in 1943. 

Rosalie loved to help people any way she could. She was accepted into the Cadet Nurses program at Madison General Hospital on April 1, 1945 and graduated as a Registered Nurse.

Rosalie's lifetime nursing career spans over four decades. She went on to get her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Concordia University. Also her certificate in Parish Nursing at Concordia University.

She worked for 26 years at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center (SMMC). From there she joined the Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) for 10 years where she ran the flu clinic. She was the director of Nursing at Morningside Nursing Home for 10 years. For two years Rosalie was the Nursing Care Coordinator at Greendale Healthcare Center. Also the Shift Supervisor for five years at Sunny Ridge Nursing Home.

Rosalie loved her church. She was involved as a Parish Nurse, choir member and organized the widow’s brunch. Rosalie also found time to give back to her community as a VNA hospice volunteer and SMMC Patient’s Advocate for Advance directives.

Rosalie’s passion was her flowers. She achieved her Master Gardener Degree. Her flower garden was her pride and joy. She loved giving away her flowers in exchange for smiles.

Rosalie enjoyed attending many sporting and music events for her children and grandchildren.

Rosalie was united in marriage to David Rusch on July 2, 1949 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sheboygan. They were blessed with four children. Karl (Mari) Rusch, Christine (Michael) Barzon, Janet (David) Tetschlag, and Judy (Doug) Rindt. Nine grandchildren: Katy (Michael) Prange, Kurt (Rachel) Rusch, Kendra (Michael) Benson, Kyle (Gentry) Tetschlag, Kayla (Rick) Karius, Karlie (Cody) Harms, Nicholas (Tina) Rindt, Natalie (Brian) Worth, Nadine (Chad) Sandee and 21 great grandchildren: Nina and Anna Prange, Grace, Benjamin, Emily and Zoey Rusch; Finley, Elodie, Kade and Remi Tetschlag; Treyton and Macklin Karius; Thomas and Easton Harms; Camila, Charlie, Maren and Brooklyn Rindt; Barrett and Amber Worth; Colter Sandee.

Rosalie was preceded in death by her husband David, her daughter Christine and son-in-law Michael Barzone, parents Michael and Norma, her brother Victor Reinholtz, her sister Julia Stielow, her great grandson Macklin Karius.

Funeral services for Rosalie will take place on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sheboygan, WI. Reverend Timothy Mech, Pastor, will officiate. Visitation will also be on Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow services at Lutheran Cemetery.
