Roy James Hiner, age 57, of Wisconsin Dells, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at his home. He was born on November 25, 1967, in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Lamoine and Mary (Ewers) Hiner. Roy was a 1986 graduate of Wonewoc High School. He later received a degree in machining from MATC in Madison. Roy explored several occupations and found his passion in his ownership of Dell Prairie Kettle Corn. He had an enormous love of large breed dogs and spending time outdoors. He enjoyed the process of tapping trees and making maple syrup with his nephew, James. Roy was a member of the Reedsburg and LaValle Outdoor Clubs where he was active in trap shooting and muzzle loading. He was also a member of the Reedsburg Masonic Lodge 79.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lamoine; maternal grandparents, Maime and Lewis Ewers; paternal grandparents, Mel and Beverly Oswald; his beloved canine companions, Chewy, Rosie, Titan, Buck and Rocky. Roy is survived by his mother, Mary Ewers-Hiner of Reedsburg; fiancée, Tanya Lewison and her children, Alex and Andrew Lewison of Chippewa Falls; brothers, Jim (Irene) Hiner of Valton, and Bill (Ann) Hiner of VA; nephew, James (Ryanne) Hiner of Loganville; niece, Laura (Josh) Randall of Warrens; great nieces and nephews: Julianne, Evelyn and Robert Hiner, and William Randall; many wonderful family and friends; and current canine companions, Minnie and Maximus.

A memorial service for Roy J. Hiner will be conducted at 12:00 Noon on Friday, February 28, 2025, at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg, with Chaplain Daniel Farber officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorials of remembrance may be made to the county humane society of your choice, the Reedsburg Outdoor Club, or the Boys and Girls Club of Reedsburg in lieu of flowers.
