Russell E. Ihlenfeld

Russell E. Ihlenfeld, age 80, of Reedsburg, WI, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. He was born on July 15, 1942 in Milwaukee, WI, to June (Pflughoeft) and Russell Ihlenfeld. Russ graduated from Granville High School in June of 1960. He went on to graduate with a Master’s Degree from Milwaukee School of Engineering in August of 1971. He was united in marriage on March 22, 1998 to Virginia Grote.

Russ loved dogs and tinkering. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and watching the birds, and gardening, which he loved to share.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Tim.

Russ is survived by his wife, Virginia; his children, Penny (Al) Croft, Barb Beder, and Fredrick Ihlenfeld; step-children, Jeff (Rhonda) Smith, Scott Smith, and Brian (Deanne) Smith; and his grandchildren; along with other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Russell will be conducted. on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at 11:30 A.M, at Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg with Reverend Paul Crolius, Pastor of St. Peter Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday at the funeral home from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Reedsburg at a later date.
