Shirley May Scheeler Obituary
Shirley May Scheeler, age 93, of Cazenovia, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026, at home with family. She was born on April 7, 1933, in Abbotsford, WI, the daughter of Oscar and Wilma (Duellman) Seidel.
On March 9, 1953, Shirley was united in marriage to Edward Carl Scheeler. Their marriage of 64 years was blessed with three children.
While still raising her family, Shirley provided administrative and customer support for Ed’s new business, Scheeler Plumbing and Heating. She later worked for Almet in Baraboo, and then later worked at Rockwell Automation in Richland Center until retirement.
Shirley loved growing flowers, dancing, singing, fishing with Ed and family at their cabin, and watching the birds at her feeders. She also enjoyed gardening, bowling, sewing, knitting, and playing cards and socializing with family and friends. Shirley generously donated blood to the Red Cross and was a Cazenovia EMT. She was also a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church in LaValle and the Cazenovia Legion Hall Auxilliary.
Shirley willingly helped others and encouraged her family to do the same. Above all, she treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating great memories together throughout the years. Shirley will be remembered for lavishing hugs and kisses on them, right up to their last few days together.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; grandsons, Scott Spencer and Daniel Bauer; siblings: Ella Brill, James Seidel, Kenneth Seidel, Gerald Seidel and Marion Blahnik.
Shirley is survived by her children: Rodney (Sandy) Scheeler, Debra Bauer, Cindy Spencer (Merlin Brandt); many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Grace Whalen and Sally Seidel, brother-in-law, James Blahnik, and many nieces and nephews.
