Shirley M. Sigafus, age 87, of Reedsburg, WI, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023 surrounded by her family. Jesus came and took her hand and led her home. She was born on January 6, 1936 in Reedsburg, WI to Owen and Helen (Poff) Miller. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Gardner on April 10, 1954. They were blessed with four children. On May 14, 1976 she was united in marriage to John Sigafus, and moved to Hayward.
She belonged to the Eastern Star for many years, and became a Worthy Matron. Shirley enjoyed traveling by motorcycle with her husband John. Shirley was an active member of the Hayward United Methodist Church before moving back to Reedsburg. She then became a member of the First Baptist Church. She spent much time reading, crafting and embroidery.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents; brothers Marvin, Darreyl, Leslie, Loren, Bud, Jim and Harold; sisters, Ann, Anola; infant son, Michael and son Dennis.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Mark) Kerner, Diana (Mike) Gruenert, and Martha “Marti” (Mark) Meyer; step-children, John (Julie) Sigafus, Susan Kaney, Jamie (Amy) Sigafus, and Joe Sigafus; sister, Waverly Owen; brother, Ted (Peggy) Miller; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; along with other relatives and friends.
A memorial service for Shirley will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at the First Baptist Church in Reedsburg. Rev. Robert Hetzel, Pastor, will be the officiant. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be made in Big Creek Cemetery, rural LaValle.
