Sonja Lynn Johansen, age 54, of Reedsburg, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on February 20, 1971, in Florida, the daughter of DuWayne and Kathryn (Holloway) Stai.
Sonja was a 1989 graduate of Webb High School. She proudly served her country in the US Army during Desert Storm. Following her honorable discharge, she worked in dietary at the Sauk County Health Care Center in Reedsburg and later as a cashier at the Viking Express Mart (BP Station). Sonja loved horses, especially her horse, Sundance. She enjoyed spending time outdoors picking berries, and sitting around the campfire with her family and friends. Sonja was also an avid reader.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Arthur Biesek and sister, Annette Clark.
Sonja is survived by her children, Jordan Borchers and Jacob Johansen; siblings, James Stai, Kimberly (Richard) Jackson, Connie Barr, DuWayne Stai, Jr. and Joe Stai; grandchildren, Vada Van Rensselaer, Aidan G. and Jaycee Strampe; special family caregivers, Jenelle (Dalton) Stai; several nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Sonja Johansen will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg, with Chaplain Daniel Farber officiating. Military honors will be performed following the service. Visitation will begin on Saturday morning from 11:30 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
