Susan J. Smith of LaValle, formerly of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 16, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born on March 19, 1947 in Kenosha to Adam and Maddalaine (Neeve) Massari.

On June 29, 1974, she married Ronald Smith and together they raised two children. 

Susan spent many of her working years in Kenosha at Haircrafters and Bear Realty. She had a special way with people and excelled at these customer service oriented positions.

Susan had a smile that lit up a room and she will be missed by many. 

She is survived by her husband, Ronald, her children Robert (Teresa) Cohoon, Lori (Juan) Gutierrez, grandchildren, Sean Coutley, Robert Cohoon Jr., Aragon, Liliana and Sebastian Gutierrez and  great grandchildren, Jace, Ariella, Jake and Maci; along with her siblings Rita Keller, Theresa (Darryl) Penshorn, Patty (Dan) Kosak. She is further survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Sheryl Massari, Melvin (Sandy) Smith, Harley (Roberta) Smith, Roger (Pat) Smith, and Dale Emery, as well as her nieces, nephews, God children, brother from another mother, George Neeve, and many cousins and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents; her brothers, Gene and James; sisters, Rosie Singletary and Dorothy Mlsna; as well as many other loved ones. 

A service will be held for Susan on Friday, December 27, 2024 at 12 Noon at Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg with visitation from 10 A.M. until the time of service.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Courtney, her special nurse from Agrace, as well as the staff at St. Clare Hospital who provided Susan with the most loving, compassionate care in her final days.
