Sylvia Christine (Bender) Weidling, 77, was born on October 22, 1947 in Hillsboro, WI to Dorothy (Holton) and Raymond Bender, Sr.  She graduated from Wisconsin Dells High School on June 3, 1966. 

Sylvia waitressed for many years at the Dells Oasis in Lake Delton.  She then went to work for Lands’ End where she later retired, all while maintaining the home, family and all bookkeeping for the family dairy farm.  Sylvia was always ready to cook a meal for anyone who stopped by to give a hand on the farm.  Also, don’t sit for long in dirty clothes because she was stripping you down to wash them.  She loved shopping especially for fine jewelry.  She loved watching TV late at night, traveling and spending time with her siblings, grandkids, daughters and husband.

She is survived by her husband Blaire Weidling of 52 years; children, Cinnamon (Cole) Schultz (Gerald) of Wisconsin Dells and Heather (Weidling) Cortese (Adam) of Hubert, NC.  She also leaves behind four amazing grandchildren; Cordell Schultz, Justin Cortese (Grace), Garrett Cortese, and Mia Rose Schultz; siblings Lela Kozlowski and Sandra Bender-Gilbertson; along with many other family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by both her parents; and siblings, Reva Jensen, Shirley Smith, Laurie Peasall, Frank “Buddy” Bender and Dan Bender.

A heartfelt thank you to the nursing staff at Agrace Hospice, and Our House Memory Care of Reedsburg for their compassionate and respectful care of Sylvia during her final hours in a peaceful and serene environment. 

A celebration of Sylvia’s life will be held on Sunday, August 17, from 12 noon until 4:00 pm at the family farm, E9840 County Road P, Wisconsin Dells. Sylvia’s ashes will be laid to rest at sea at a later date.
