Thomas Heiting Obituary

Thomas James Heiting, 75, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was born on July 5, 1947 in Marshfield, WI, to Richard and Edna (Patt) Heiting.

Tom graduated from Madison Business College. After college he was a B52 pilot in the Vietnam Conflict for the U.S. Air Force. Following the Vietnam Conflict, he joined his father as co-owner of Mid-State Business Machines. He later retired as Lt. Colonel from the Air Force Reserve.

He is survived by his loving wife Gail; four children Cheri (Mike) Purkis, Bret Heiting, Richard (Teresa) Heiting, and James Michael Heiting; two step-children, Laura (Christopher) Bosley, and Brian Kind; as well as 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; his siblings: Mary Jedlicki, Paul Heiting, and Betty (Bill) Jonas. He was formerly married to JoEllen Heiting, the mother of his four children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Edna Heiting; and sister, Barb Kuntz.

A Celebration of Life for Thomas will be held at a later date.
