Thomas M. Kobishop, age 87, of Reedsburg, WI passed away on Friday, February 24, 2023. He was born on November 7, 1935 to Sylvester and Grace (Brill) Kobishop in Stevens Point, WI. He was united in marriage to Donna Bodendein on May 25, 1960 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Lime Ridge. He was a state wrestling champ in high school and won the golden glove award for boxing.

Tom proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1955-1959 being stationed on the USS Boxer at sea during the Suez Crisis. He was employed by Ben Franklin and Woolworths. He then worked for Hankscraft and Gerber. He had many remodeling side jobs, and sold Christmas trees with most being hand cut by him. After retirement, he always had a project to work on, and spent many cold months in Fort Meyers, Florida meeting new friends and soaking up the sun. He was a true do it yourself type of guy. He enjoyed remodeling, hunting, fishing trips to Canada, gardening, golf cart and ATV rides around his land. He also liked spending time up north at “The Ranch”, spending time with family, and always seemed to win the darkest color award when dying eggs for Easter. He had a soft spot for his wife and daughters with many gifts hand-picked and wrapped just from him, especially Valentine’s Day and Christmas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son Jason; brother Peter; and brothers and sisters-in-law: LaVern Bodendein, Winifred (Richard) Taylor, Joseph Tourdot, Robert Stingley, Patricia Laubscher, Paul Bodendein, Trish Bodendein, and Gary Bodendein.

Tom is survived by his wife, Donna; daughters: Regina (David) Brenner, Melissa (Paul) Brey, Rebecca (Matthew) Steiner, and Amanda (Tim) Munz; grandchildren: Caleb (Darcie Wieck) Brey, Jonathan (Meaghan) Brey, Anastasia (Danny Turner) Brey, Adam, Isaac, Phoebe, Andrei, Ivan and Olek Steiner, and Owen, Grace and Ethan Munz; step-grandchildren: Maggie and Mitch Brenner; sisters and brothers-in-law: Mary Kobishop, Rose Bodendein, Mary Lou Tourdot, Nancy Stingley, Maria Holloway, Arvin Laubscher, Joe Bodendein, Lois Bodendein, Janet (Mike) Young, Elizabeth (Eric) Sauey; many nieces, nephews, and close friends Bob and Darlene, and Gordy and Betty.

A prayer service for Thomas will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg with Deacon Ron Pickar officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Memorials of remembrance may be made to the Clark County Humane Society, W3926 WI-73, Neilsville, WI 54456 in lieu of flowers.
