Thomas W. Resler

Thomas (Tom) William Resler, 80, of Reedsburg, WI, passed away Monday, November 16, 2020 at his home.

Tom was born August 31, 1940 in Saint Paul, MN to David and Verna (Nichlason) Resler. The oldest of four children, Tom grew up in the north woods of Remer, MN.  As a child and teenager, he spent his time working on the family farm, hunting, trapping, and working other family businesses.  In 1958 he graduated valedictorian from Remer High School.  After attending two years at Concordia College, he joined the Navy in 1962 where he was a Fire Control Technician on the cruiser USS Columbus. 

In 1964, while out at sea he received a letter from Judy who became the love of his life.  After writing each other for 6 months and dating for 10 days they became engaged and were married on February 13, 1965.  After leaving the Navy in 1966, Tom spent his career as an Electronics Engineer. Tom was an engineer at heart and a hard worker.  He spent time working on his hobby farms, building, and designing solutions to problems.  Most important to Tom was family.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and would do anything to help his family.

Tom is survived by his wife Judy; daughter Dana; two sons Greg and wife Jennifer, Dan and wife Crystal; nine grandchildren; sisters Barbara and Lois; brother William and wife Susan; and many other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers or a public service, we ask that you set aside time to spend with family and loved ones, because Tom knew this is what made life worth living.
