Tyina Sherise Barton, age 19, of Reedsburg, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at UW Hospital in Madison.  She was born on March 24, 2004, in Milwaukee, WI and was thrilled to become the daughter of Hilbert “Leo” and Dawn (Goff) Barton.  Tyina was a spirited, fun-loving young woman.  She had a big love for her family and a special bond with her siblings, especially Karlene and Moses.

Tyina was a student at Reedsburg Area High School where she was a member of the choir and loved to sing.  She had a tremendous vibrato. Tyina was a Special Olympics athlete excelling in bowling, basketball, bocce ball and track.  She received numerous medals for her achievements.  Tyina was also a talented artist. She was very creative whether drawing, painting or creating pottery.

She is survived by her parents; Leo and Dawn Barton; maternal grandmother, Bonnie Todd; siblings: Danica (Chris) Peters, Taren (Bryan) Lehman, Karlene Barton, Dustin (Lindsey) Barton, Daphne Barton (Gunner McSweeney) and Moses Barton; nieces and nephews: Mylee Cheek, Dallas Denman, Madalynn Denman, Nayvee Lehman, Harper Peters, Oliver Barton, Aurora Peters, McKinley McSweeney, Isabella Lehman, Lillian Barton, Haize McSweeney; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Tyina was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Ben and Carol Barton and maternal grandfather, Dennis Todd, and baby nephew Harlee Peters.

Funeral services for Tyina S. Barton will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Trinity Baptist Church, Reedsburg, with Pastor Michael Lopp officiating.  Burial will follow in Resting Green Cemetery, Ironton. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to be given in Tyina’s name to assist with expenses.
