Wayne Delbert Blinston, age 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at his home, the result of numerous illnesses.   

Wayne was born June 20, 1940, in Monroe County, WI, the son of Delbert W. and Mabel L. (Meinecke) Blinston. He was married to Becky Young in 1964 and they enjoyed sixty years together.

Wayne was first employed at Sparta Foundry, and then transferred to Richland Center Foundry Co. where he met the love of his life serving ice cream at Dairy Queen. After forty years of foundry employment he retired as a front line supervisor from Grede Foundries, Reedsburg.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He enjoyed owning classic vehicles and attending classic car shows, many elk hunting trips to Wyoming, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He served many years on the LaValle Village Board and as Village President. He was a lifetime member of LaValle Sportsman’s Club and LaValle Advent Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Young) Blinston, daughter, Mishelle, grandchildren: Jodi (Josh) Behn, Jackie (Greg) Wilkinson, Jacob (Katie) Meyer and ten great grandchildren: Jared, Jason, Jed Behn, Tyler, Taylor, Alyson, Erik Wilkinson, Rosalie, Marlena, Margaret Meyer; sisters Shelby (Mac) Starling, Patricia Conner, sister-in-law Rita Young Gulsrud, brothers-in-law Duane Young and Jack (Connie) Young, nephew, nieces and many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughters Rebecca Renae and Emmy Jo, his parents, brothers and sisters-in-law Bonnie and Smokey Clift, Kevin Gulsrud, Dennis Conner, Jenny Young; and grandparents. 

The family wishes to thank Wayne’s private health care workers, Agrace Hospice for their care, and special friend Happy Hanko.

Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, July 22, 2024 at the Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg, WI with Pastor Andy Johnson officiating. Visitation will be on Monday from 10:00 AM until time of service at 12:00 Noon.  Burial will be made at Oak Lawn Cemetery, LaValle.
